Default UV Texture Map in PhotoShop

Hello all,

Once you create a model in Maya, how do you get a 'Map' of the model into photoshop where you can edit the textures and save as a .TGA? I watched the texture video by M. Mckinley and he starts with the map already loaded. Yes, I'm new and Ignorant.....doiiiii!

Ideas?

Open the UV texture editor, i think it's under the window menu. Then click Polygons>UV Snapshot.

Thanx for replying ckyuk!

I tried your suggestion using a spherical polygon and the result was a .iif file that photoshop can't read.

do I need to do some type of conversion?

Iff? Switch the file format to .tga in Maya before you take a UV snapshot.

Thanx guys I got. The extremely obvious tends to slip me. They don't call me stupid for nothing.

Isn't Phopojijo the name for santa claus in some language?

If your in the US enjoy Memorial Day w-end, as for me it's beer and beaches (P.C. Florida)

Cheers Fellas and thanx again
