Fixing the render view?

Right now my render view is long at the edges but short on both the upper and lower part(panorama?) I tried changed the amount of pixels but that didnt solve the problem. user added image

Any clues of what to do?

post the render just so i can be sure, but it sounds like a pixel aspect ratio problem...

in your render settings make sure (under image size) make sure your pixel aspect ratio is set to 1. anything else will make your render look distorted in render view.

It seems that the amount of pixels was wrong, strangely enough I cant manage to change it in the render options. :S

also under image size you'll see a 'maintain ratio' button, change it from pixel aspect to device aspect, and then try changing the pixel aspect ratio value.
