Flickering light

I'm trying to render out a forest scene where I have a directional light as the main light source. When I render out the sequence the light appears to flicker. I've tried putting down the resolution size of the shadows. This helps a little but I'm doing to 512 resolution with still a little flickering and not really the depth of shadows that I need. Any other suggestions on what I can do to stop the flickering?

Thanks

why would you put the resolution down? put it up. If you have lots of small objects eg. leaves in a scene then it's not suprising it's flickering. Also check the bias settings.
