Default Virtual Cityscape Challenge: House

Hey,
This is my first compertition and i know i'm leaving it a bit late to enter and finish by the 1st but here goes!
I've blocked out most of the parts and now happy with the scale of everything. It's just a case of going in a detailing - adding those little touches. Hopefully i'll be ready to texture by the end of the week, leaving me enough time to paint and light the scene.
Please let me know what you think, as any suggestions would be welcome.
Thanks

Hi Whyte, looking good so far, I like the shapes you've got in there so far, the only thing I'll say so far as a crit at this stage is that the two windows in the middle (top and bottom ones) look a little big, that would be fine but breaking the top one up with such a big cross is making it look a little off scale, maybe more panes of glass in there. But going well so far, good luck!

Thanks Dango,
i've been working on a few more details on the house and the windows are going to be next. I'll post new images once they are finished.

I've been working on some of the details on the front of the house. The back of the house still needs work. Here's an update.
I hope to be finished with the modeling by thte end of the weekend so i can start on the UV's and textures.

The back of the house so far. I haven't decided what to do about any garden objects. I'm currently modeling a car to sit in the front drive.

Hey, This is a recent render of my scene with the van added and a few quick paint effects tress and bushes added. I know they look bad and have decided to take them out. The other issue i have with the scene is it looks boring. It's too clean, too plan and too CG. It's needs an edge otherwise it's just too forgetable.
so the new challenge for me is to jazz up the house in a week before the compertition closes. back to the Maya drawing board.

I know i am cutting it fine, as i've only just finished laying out the UV's this weekend. The model is only going to have some basic textures thrown on to it, as i know i don't have the time to detail them as much as i would like. :shakehead

even if you don't finish to the standard you want you should keep going after the challenge
