Depth map shadows are killing me!

Hi all,
Another question about Depth map shadows. I can't seem to get a smooth shadow on the floor and body of the character.
The image was rendered with
Dmap Resolution : 2000
Dmap Filter Size: 3
Dmap Auto Focus: on

I tried rendering at high quality and still the artifacts remain.
Can anyone tell me the correct procedure for preparing a render with Depth Map Shadows?

Thanks.

Which renderer are you using? mentalray or Software?

Try raising the bias level in your light's attribute editor. Don't go overkill however. Raise it very slowly.
