Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world

plants in render show no reflection

Just finished building a livingroom. I added plants from maya's visor menu. But when I go to render the plants are not reflecting of the floor or windows. Is there a setting that I am missing?

Check the shape node tab on the model and check if visible in reflections and refractions is checked on.
