JCTBram...you are kidding right? Check some mustang ref mate, you'll be surprised at the shape and connection for this part. A strange area again, remember the strange extrusion on the wing for the elevator...Of course it will be separate.

Not hard to confuse my brain cells lately my friend.
I must have misread your intentions about attaching the horizontal stab and its fairing to the fuselage. I figured if you were going through the bother of attaching it there must be a good reason and just wanted to know what it could be.
I agree the fairings for the connections of the wing and the horizontal stabilizer to the fuselage on the P-51 are quite complicated especially the flange extruded from the fuselage at the root of the wing above the flaps.
