uv editor - place 1 piece on top of another identical piece

So I'm unwrapping a low poly sword for texture practice and I have part of the sword selected

https://i43.tinypic.com/wl7pl1.png

and i want to lay it on top of the other identical piece perfectly so when i texture one it textures both.

what functions do i use to do this?

There is none, to my knowledge in basic maya.
BUT what I did is I downloaded a script named Xform UV there:
https://www.stefandavid.com/posts/xformuv/
(it's not on creative crash)
in the extra tab you have a stack shell function that overlap selecteds shells. It's only based on their center so they have to be same topo/scale/orient.
this tiny window is full of super usefull stuff, I highly recommend it!
