animation stepped mode

Hi, i am wondering how to always do my animation in stepped mode. It seem that i need to convert to stepped everytime i keyframed but how to i enable the stepped mode to 'on' so i dont need to keep converting it.

It's in the settings/preferences, under one of the tabs you can set the default animation tangent to stepped.
