ok...

does anyone know of a way that you can alter the state of files outside of maya ( i.e any normal file on my hard disk )

I simply want to be able to make files read only or not, and hopefully be able to query this.


is this possible through mel ?

i dont think its possible through mel,, but i think you can program it (like in Glu3d's script)... donno how tho
