Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

odd deformation help.

Ok, the most important thing i need help with is this. I have a square ring(if that makes sense). It is kind of thin, but when I rotate it it deforms.

Here is the original...

ahhhh.......you are right. I did have it grouped to something. Thanks. I got it now. Is there any way to have this stuff grouped and still make it not deform??

You may have done some non-uniform scaling on it. That may create some undesired effects depending on what other types of modifications you've done to the shape. To get around this, you should freeze the scale transforms. Go to Modify > Freeze Transformations options box, and select only Scale. That will freeze your current scale transforms at <1,1,1> which should take care of your skewing problem when rotating.
