Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Motion Blur settings

Hi all.

It's that damned Max guy again. Another crossover question.

In Max you can set the amount of motion blur per object, can you do anything like that in Maya? I guess I could just render each object in it's own layer, but then compositing will be a bitch.

Thanks.

btw, those of you whom have helped me over the last month or so all kick ass. I want to shout out a pre-emptive thanks. When I finish this project next month I'll post it where it can be seen.

you can disable motion blur in render tags. this lets you seperate motion blur and no motion blur on object basis. then you could set the motion blur relatively low in render globals. and make (on object basis) in 3d motion tab the max visible samples higher. it might not change teh length (time wise) of the motion blur, but the quality of the edges. also note that according to manual you need highest quality anitaliasing if you want the max visible samples have an effect at all. the options in max might be better, i dont know max.

hope this helps

Thanks duck. I was hoping more for something that did let me change the length of the blur per object. It's gotta be in there so I guess I'll keep looking.
