Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

single mesh

hi
is there any reason why I shoud not use a single mesh for modeling in Maya is there a reason for a iner and outer mesh

you dont need an inner mesh if its for 2D art. For COS and STA you can but you want to import it into a seperate program.
