This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

As far as I possibly can. I really want get work as a modeller/ texture artist, so this is a good test for me to see how close I can get to industry standards.

Glad you like it so far.

Watch your wrinkles, they're getting a little 'pressed'. Those two by his eyes are a little 'canyonized'. A wrinkle doesn't flatten out in the center like that.

Unless you're not going to texture him, then modeling the wrinkles is a good idea. However, you can always put them in as a bump map later ya know. user added image

Good start. Can't wait to see him finished!

Thanks Dave.

I'll go back and take another look at those wrinkles.
Ill be using a bump map for the finer details, but as I dont want to use any displacement, I want to make sure I get the major defining facial wrikles in on the model. I really dislike the look of heavy bump maps user added image

Thanks again.

That's coming really well, looks great! Hey Chris, was in the book store the other day and they got a Lord of the Rings book and in the back is the layout and making in wireframe of this guy. Just another ref if you want to go peek this week-end.

Nice work Chris, his arms looks a little weird to me, vaguely like twisty loaves or something. Great spine and the head is super. Look forward to more!

There are only 3 large hard covers, did not look at the title, but it's one of them, I just asked for Lord of the Rings books. Just flip all the way to the back pages and he's there. If I pass by again today I will stop in and have a look.

Been learning Maya for about 1.5 years. I was a airbrush artist for a long time before that.
