Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Fire Truck

Well only the cabin for the moment - which is the hardest part.

Hey nil, i love you're work. The truck is looking very nice. I wonder are you working from any photo refs? If soo id like to see one. All the modeling you've done looks dead on, it just looks like there could be more detail in some parts but i can't think of anything to add.

Keep it up!

Thx

I dont use an image plane - the cabin was done without reference
I use some image for the details but there is no specific brand.

I have loads of ref material for the fire-equpment .

There is a lot of work on this truck to be done - far from finished

Just the question a colleague of mine asked me today - and I told her that in the US there are fire trucks in all kind of colors :

Blue/Brown/Yellow/Orange even green and they all loo beautiful - the onw I like best after red is this mustard like yellow

Take a look a t a yellow fire apparatus:

And in Israel we have all red trucks.

Hi Nirsul, Love the fire truck. Yellow is a good choice I think cause it's unusual, yet familiar and grabs your attention. I mean, you see them around, but not often, like they're special.
Modeling is awesome. how about a wire image?

Thanks

Modelinng is actually not so awesome as I have difficulties with the CurveFillet command which would improve some areas but I cannot seem to use it successfully.

Anyway here are 2 wire (or fireewire) images:

Cool. The tires are going through the street. I understand they would be a little sqatted but that is a bit much.
