There’s a second trailer out for Dune, directed by Denis Villeneuve and set for release in October 2021. The film, based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel, is the story of young Paul Atreides who leads the nomadic tribes in a battle to control the desert planet Arrakis. With VFX from DNEG, the film is the second collaboration between the studio, VFX Supervisor Paul Lambert, and director Denis Villeneuve. It follows Blade Runner 2049, which won the Oscar for best VFX in 2018. Judging from the trailer, it looks like Dune might be on track to do the same.
