Burt The Cartoon Dinosaur Vol 2 - Texturing

This tutorial starts with the creation of the UV map using new techniques in Maya 2016. With this UV workflow it's possible to UV a cartoon character in around 15 minutes. We also look at UV tiling to maximize texture space, and how to make our job of painting in Mari easier. We then move on to Photoshop where we hand paint the eye and the base skin texture. Next we enter Mari to continue work on the texture. We cover all the tools necessary to create the texture with a bump and spec map within Mari. After our final texture is complete we go into Maya and set up a lighting scheme and design the material for Burt. Here we look at the Mila material and how to set up a sub surface scattering network.
