Adding 2 UV

Hi

I' ve a problem with adding 2 different map to a Car Tire.
I made a high poly Car tire. I want to add a nice tire material texture & a bump map for the side wall. Does anyone know how to add 2 different uv map?
For the sidewall I used planar map. I want to use cylindrical mapping for the texture.

Just select the faces of what you want mapped the go to say planer map, same for the other projection...........dave

thx dave. Unfortunately its not working. I tried it on a cylinder. I made a Cylindrical mapping to all the object. Like it has texture everywhere. good. Then I want to add some bump to the sidewall. But only to the sidewall so i made a planar X mapping.
Booth does not work. i can separate my object to have texture on parts & bump on the other parts. I need texture everywhere & bump on some faces :(
& the 2 uve looks completly different. Where am i going wrong?

I have just done a UV set on what I think is your object and it should look like this.........dave

hmmm. I am not sure if you did what i wanted to

I wanted to ve a result like this. Sadly, its 2 cylinder...... not 1

I found the Creat empty UV set. SO i was able to make 2 UV for 1 mesh. The problem is dont know how to connect the 2 shaders.

I'm not sure I understand the problem exactly, but you should be able to create the UVs like above (or like Dave's, in the same set) and apply your tire texture. Then in PS, create the bump texture just over the part of the UVs where the sides are located (the top half in Dave's layout).

Im no expert but wouldnt you create the tyre tread bump and the writing bump in PS stwert...on seperate layers, save them as seperate bumps and then just attach them to the shader? I have done it like this from memory. You still only need the one UV set.

cheers bullet

It sounds like Joey only wants bump on the side, so that's what I was trying to explain, bullet, if I get you.

sorry mate :) I dont ve this project at home. I'm tweeking it at work (when i ve freetime). So i Cant Post picture now.

I got a high poly tire. I modelled like this>>> http://www.gfxtra.com/uploads/posts_...5/72819266.jpg

But i miss the Information of the Side. Like Fulda 195/50r15 w blablabla....
so i searched a picture like:

http://www.google.hu/imgres?imgurl=h...w=1093&bih=793

& did som Ps. So I ve a Side picture Bump :)

It was still not enought. I dont like mia material or Vray shaders. I wanted to make a nice texture....
So I did one using Ps, but It Cant be applied with the side picture.

You should only need 1 shader and 1 UV set for what you are trying to do, I cannot see you first link for the high poly model as not found, it could be you need a little more geo on your low model mesh..............dave

Edit: have not done any radial writting in photoshop just looked to see how hard it was (easy)
