Distorting UV Map

This is a new problem for me so I need a bit of a hand on sorting it out.

I UV map my character at the start of the animation and it looks great, but as soon as my character starts moving and animating then the UV map starts to move around and distort.

Does anyone know how to stop this?

Cheers

My guess is that you'll need to create a texture reference object.

Oh right, well at least it's nothing too dificult to do. I'll give that a try and let you know how I get on.

Just to let you know that making the texture reference object sorted the problem.

Cheers :D

Oh well it was good while it lasted. I created the reference object but it's still doing it. Im at a loss.

If there is anything that I can do like post screenshots to help then just gimme a shout.

I'de thought I would post a picture of what my UV map look like at the start of the animation.

I deleted the old texture reference object and made a new one and the help bar said 'Warning: Removing inalid characters from name'

Not sure if that's important but I thought I would mention it anyway.

.... and this is what it looks like after I scrub throught the time slider.

Ad you can see there is a reference object there but it doesn't seam to be doing anything. Weird.

Just to let you guys know (and for anyone else who might run into the same problem) I found the answer.

Out of intrest I sent this thread to my good man Mark Pascoe at Escape Studios, London who quickly spoted it.

I had UV mapped on an animated character and that was causing the problem. So what I did was to copy the geometry in question, move it out of the way and delete the history on the copyed geometry.

Then I went to Polygons --> Transfer Option Box and selecte UV Sets only then clicked Apply.

Bob's you uncle, bish bash bosh and your done. Sweat as a nut.

:D
