Looks nice, like the curtains particularly.
How did you make them? cheers, gubar |
cheers gubar
the curtains were just made by making an e.p. curve in the shape that you think looks good for curtains, then i duplicated it and changed it slightly and moved it down. then lofted between the 2 curves. and to get them billowing in the wind i just used a lattice deformer. thakes a while to get them looking ok, still not happy with the one on the left at the mo. |

started on a sort of TV cabinet thing...
crits and comments welcome!! |
The objects are looking nice, but I'd like to see some composition. All the random objects aren't giving me an idea as to what you're going for.
|
cheers.
gohan1842 is this what you mean? want to put a sofa in the corner under the camera clutter up the desk more. |

trying to get the sofa to look good. i'm stumped! how can i make it look better than this because im not very pleased with it...
|
i've finsihed with the modelling for the time being. still not happy with a few things, the sofa for instance. want to crack on and get some textures applied. i will probably go back and tweak models and add things as i go.
crits and comments encouraged! http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...inet-combo.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...f/tv-combo.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...desk-combo.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...sofa-combo.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ains-combo.jpg http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...top1-combo.jpg |
A very good start! I really like the books. Keep us updated.
|
thanks alot, there actually meant to be DVDs but i think making some books might look better, so cheers!!
going to start some renders now. get the basic global illumination and final gather down defore i start adding textures. |
what kind of renders are those? I like the way they look a lot.
|
they are just amibient occlusion renders, and then i used the vector render to render out the wire frames, then put the two together in photoshop.. you know how to do them or do you want me to explain??
|
yup I know how to do both, but combining them in photoshop is something I haven't learned yet, it's probably pretty easy though huh?
|

yeah it is easy, just gotta open them and then drag the wire over the top of the render then fiddle with the blending modes to make it look good, and that about it...
anyway, started a little bit of texturing and basic renders |
hi .. first of all you have done a really nice work secondly i want to ask you a question ... how could i render a scene mental ray with it's wire frame as you done in the latest pictures
|
you have to render using the maya vector render.. what you have to do is.....
make sure that the maya vector render pluging is loaded. then either creat a camera or use one of the defaults and go to its attribute editor. scroll down to the enviroment tab and change the background colour to white. open up the render globals and uncheck the fill objects box and check the include edges box.. and away you go!! change the colour and line thinkness as you want! hope that helps.. |
THANKS for your help ..... great man

Cant wait to see the final result. I am trying to get natural looking lighting in maya mentalray and its taking some time. You seem to have acheived that long ago. What is the config of your PC? Thanks |
