About This Course

Spach-Alspaugh House and Environment Volume 2

In this tutorial we take a look at creating the UV maps and the environment for the Spach-Alspaugh House. We cover many topics like UV mapping and baking of high resolution geometry into displacement. We also generate ambient occlusion maps to prepare for texturing. This we do using mental ray and Maya's inbuilt Turtle render engine. We then create the plants and trees with paint effects, which we convert to polygons. Finally we do a basic camera match, and look at various techniques for placing objects with particle systems.
