thanks for the reply, but every object in my scene got cast shadows turned on in the render stats...i still got light going through the desk i modelled...

hi,~ I've been trying to put a spot light and casting through objects, but somehow, even though I've turned on used depth map shaodws, the light still goes through. i've been using Render instead...

I m a newbie on using maya....i have no idea how do u extrude a curve, so that I can make it into a face! anyone out there who can help me?!
