i just end my first car and now i need to put some texture on it,, how can i make the muddy texture ?

I wanna try but have no idea about textures and that I just see the challenge I wanna I been working a few minutes in the CONCEPT #1 and i think I have something to show BUT it looks quite ugly all...

making the gun i put some holes in the barrel then
1) how to set the fire to avoid goin trhu the barrel
2) how to set the fire to go trhu the holes

I just make a gun and try to set a laser on the front of a gun but then:
1) how to make the laser light the one of the shotgun of quake 3
2) how to make the fog, in order to see the laser

after a hard day of work finally end the tuto of a subaru wrx ,and have HALF car,, in the tut only say something like ,, " and now jus mirror and thats all" ok ok sounds quite easy but,, MIRROR...
