Beveling Edge Ideas

Hello all,
I used EP curves to create this spider and witch ornaments and then used Bevel Plus to shape it right. Problem is I'm having a difficult time trying to find a way to round it out. Playing with the attributes gets me horrible results. Any ideas? Should I try another way to design it?
