Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

World Coordinates

How do you change the coordinate system in Maya?

I'm not sure how to explain it very well, but in Max you could change the coordinate system when pushing and pulling things around.

Thanks,

In Maya 4, double-click either the Move or Rotate tool to open up the Tool Settings dialog box. You can change coordinate systems there.

In Maya 4.5, you can also use the tool marking menus. Hold down "w" or "r", left-click in the viewpanel, and select your desired coordinate system from the marking menu.
