3d to 2d

Hi there, I hope I can explain this so you guys can understand, I want to have a 3d logo which is animated turn into the 2d image the customer gave me, sort of like a fade.

So the animation runs, something like 15-20 seconds then the customer wants it to fade to the flat logo or 2d logo. It's sort of like a jerry bruckheimer opening showing his studio name or what not with the tree getting struck by lightning and then it turns into a 2d image.

I hope you understanduser added image user added image

I'd say just make the 3D version as close as possible to the 2D and do the fade in a video editor.
