well i planned on making it hi-res for a hi res render and if it turns out the way i want it to (fingers crossed user added image) i will maybe even get a print done of it

Wow...that really is an AWESOME model and especially since you are so new to Maya! user added image I really like the Eclipse model so far! user added image The colors kind of look like it is supposed to be a race car! You should put it on some race track or something, that would look so awesome!! user added image

Well I assume you did a poly smooth on the object right? And you still have the history right? if so then go back and turn the poly smooth divisions option to 0 and that will do it.

My sugestion is to allways use CPS (connect poly shape) cos you allways can go from smooth version to low poly, and cos you are working on low poly and watch it in smoothed version, i think there is tutorial here in free section about CPS!!! Whatch it cos its greate for polys!!


Best resolt would come, if every one in the group are doing what is best for himself and the group!!

no i didnt use smooth..i created it in polys then to subd..to crease it ect ect then back to poly

CPS is similar to sub-d or using poly proxy, where you use a low poly cage for modeling but the actual object shows the smoothed changes.

it is at poly atm..i did it low poly..then subd...now back to poly

i have no idea how to get the low poly wire back lol

If there's still a history, you could get rid of the smoothing that way...or if there's a smooth node in the hypergraph, you could probably delete it.

ok i have a much worse problem than unsmoothing atm...i started up maya today to get the wheels done and when i go to load up the file...(or anyfile that is) maya just crashes and freezes....anyone have any idea whats causing this cuz i am so not doing that all over again

that was like 20 hrs+ work..i shouldnt have to do it all over again....no files related to the car will load..ever 1mb files which i saved along the way to creating the car..the render you guys saw ..the file size was 13mb which isnt that bad at all..i just dont know what the hell is going on.

and frankly ransick..it is NOT funny.
