Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

The model is great, but the textures could use some work i think. I don't know about how it is whereever you are but in sydney our trains are in a much shitter condition. Add, more dirt, more grime, more graffiti. Perhaps some more wear to the seats. I would suggest having different texture elements overlapping. For example have new graffiti painted over the old grafiti.

yeah agreed. i live in new york city and the trains are much grimier. remember when your doing train graffiti (unless its on the outside) it shouldnt be a great piece, it should just just be a scribble, or a tag. also try adding some graffiti scratches to the window.

model looks real good tho.

thanx for the comments, ive never been on a subway and im not very good at texturing so this is a real challenge for me.
i tried to make the graffiti look a bit shittier and im working on adding grime to the vents, benches, doors etc.

still trying to find a good way to paint grime.

i must say though its really quite fun making graffiti'd walls

not bad. add some "hello my name is: watever" stickers and also think like a graffiti artist in the placement. he wouldnt draw something where the entire thing cant fit like the dark blue tag near the door.

For some random scumming, try attaching a fractal to the texture's shader. Use the placement to narrow the fractal if you need random streaks.

Repeating from Element_Khaos: "remember when your doing train graffiti (unless its on the outside) it shouldnt be a great piece, it should just just be a scribble, or a tag. also try adding some graffiti scratches to the window."

Most of the interior graffiti is done in hurry, with sharpies and paint markers vice spray paint... and any pointed instrument that can be used to scrap the paint surface.

Wanted to thank you also for posting the wireframe version. Besides seeing textured pieces, that is my favorite view as it really helps to show how a piece was built.

nice references! the second one looks like a mix between a nyc train and i guess liek a chicago train or something. but yeah i wouldnt put as much graffiti as the first one that looks like early 80s nyc trains b4 they were graffiti proof.

i would definitely suggest doing the ads tho you could have a lot of fun with them.
