Keep faces together

Hi guys

I'm using Maya 6.5 and i find that whenever i'm modeling in polygons and i want to extrude some faces the keep faces together option in the channel bar is set to off as default. I'm just wondering if there is a way to reset the default to on so i don't have to keep changing it everytime. Not much of a problem i know but it can get really teadious at times.

Thanks

Set it from polygons--tool options -- keep faces together vice doing on a per shape basis.
