Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Its not nice to make fun of people. user added image Just playing, but that is a great model, I already love it in these early stages. Are you doing it for anything special by chance?

hehe... I was planning to give him a body and some clothes, since I never did any clothes before. The real purpose is to learn how to rig a character. Then I was planning to make a walk cycle. So I'll think I'll have it done by August 2007.

dang, that d00d is ugly LOL, damn good job on it too....

I just have one comment, can you make his nose just a tad rounder? The bridge looks square....

I like the bumps you added to the forhead, very nice touch to give him character...

the ears look really good and detailed

while I'm looking at him he looks like the type of character that would be really really skinny, like right down to the bone almost but with the muscle....

just an idea to use for him that would really bring out a lot of character IMHO user added image

Yes, you may be right... coz he doesn't have much fat on his head. I'll think I'll have to make him more skinny then... although he could still have some muscles, just smaller and more defined.

I have a question about the model also. Is he supposed to be human, if not then I would definently change his upper body up some. It seems to human to me right now, and I know your just starting on the model and all but just a suggestion. Anyways, great progress. user added image

Great job on the head dude, That is one sweet character. I agree about the nose though, it does need a bit more roundness to it in the middle. Keep it up - can't wait for next piccy!

Man the ears on your character are really good!

I like your character. One thing though you need yo work more on the sholder area etc.

I like the lighting and render in your first post, mental ray right?

Keep going!

thank vedic, yeah I'm pretty satisfied with the ears too, they are a real pain in the ass to model.

Didnt work that much on the body I know it needs a lot of work.

Yup, its MR with HDRI and FG. (Or Mental Ray with High Dynamic Range Image and Final Gather, but that's so much longer to write)
