Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Hey Kiveun - I think you need to move his feet forward when they touch the ladder - at the moment it looks like he is putting all of his weight onto his robotic toes!

its looking very nice kiveun, I still like the effort in his face as he tries to grab the next step user added image

adding to arran's comment, you would probably see the heel dropping and then raising a bit as the weight is transferred from foot to foot. He is actually pushing up with the leg at the start just before the hand grabs and so the front of the foot would probably push down and the heel would raise.

Thanks for all your kind word

I'm pretty happy with that last one.

I hope I hear all your comment in this last video.

And by the way, today I found, by chance, how to make a quick video to see the result in real time. On the timebar you just have to right click and choose Playblast. The square on the right side let you choose some options. I didn't know this option before.

Here is the quick render I make with :

The ladder climb loop

One thing I'm sure now is that Animation is a very difficult step. More than a month to put a little animation like that in a correct way  :eeek2:
I have to practice a lot more in this section.

eheh, I feel your pain there.. animation is my weak point in 3D

awesome work, you can really start to feel the weight pulling upwards

my only suggestion is to make the hips move slightly oposite of the body, right now his core looks like a stiff board, it should really help loosen up the animation, key to animation is exageration, keep in mind your creating an illusion user added image

Thanks 13uRneR !

You're right about the exageration ... but I have to start my sequence because only 2 weeks to make another animation with my low skill level in animation will be hard.

Here is my final video for the loop cycle :

Quicktime movie (5.65Mo)

Hope you like it user added image

P.S: The hardest thing now is to find a good sequence :headbang:

Very nice final piece kiveun user added image

Check out the elbows when looking from behind as they point outwards a little too much before he grabs for the bar (like he's got sweaty arms and is trying to cool/air them). Other than that - well done.

nice work!

try a slow rotating 360 degree camera movement and loop playback, could make an interesting render

Hi all,

I'm sorry I can't put some progress of my sequence because I'm on a little greek island since a week.
I find a little cyber to put these lines on the forum.

See you on monday. Have a nice W-e.

Hi all !
Ok I'm back to the office and I make some progress on my sequence. It's a landing after a jump from higher. Maybe I will make the action before he's in the air later, if I have time.

Landing Sequence

For my loop sequence, I made the correction, t1ck135, about the sweaty arms. And a 360 camera too, 13uRneR. But I didn't make the render for the moment.

3 days left :headbang: Hope to finish in time ...

See you

nice
i think if he's falling and not kinda floating down, then the energy of the fall could be a little bit overwhelming on the beginning of the roll. maybe he's hands should help blocking the fall a bit?
i loved the ladder bit with the angels! the robot looks terrific in those white colors
