Split Polygon Tool??

OMG I swear this program makes me mad. In max, you can select all edges and hit ''connect'' and voila, you have a new ring..

..Im using the select polygon tool in the YETI tutorial, and when I get around the hand and hit enter, the the new edge is loop is gone. Ive done it 50 times and it keeps disappearing after I make it.

It works when I do it without a complete loop around the hand but it disappears if I go all the way around and try to loop it.

What gives? Thanks for any help. Im using Maya 8.

make sure you are ending on an edge..... if that doesnt work, try the "insert edge loop" tool in the edit mesh menu user added image

Hi there dreams, you might already have it but alias used to do a "from Max to Maya" pdf file that outlined the main differences and how to find the correct maya tools etc for the same max tool.

Could be worth seeing if autodesk have a similar thing for maya 8

you might consider watching mtmckinley's free tut on the split polygon tool.

A pint of example is worth a gallon of advice!!
