animating an FBIK rig

I've setup an FBIK rig using the biped factory script (https://www.youneedthisman.com/downloads.html) and its setup all the joint, effectors and character nodes for me.

For setting keys should I just be setting them on all the effectors, for each keyframe?

If thats the case should I only use the effectors to pose the character? (ie should I not move the joints, since they would not be keyed?)

oh, according to the Maya docs, setting keys using the 's' hotkey for FBIK rigs won't work, which is what I was doing...Animate->Set Full Body IK keys works much better!
