soft selection in maya

hi all,
is there a way in maya (like the soft selection funtion in max) when you move a vertex to move the vertices around according to the distance from the selected one

lol! i just asked the same q.........

anyway....go to modify proportional transform(or whatever its called) it sucks.....and its not as powerful as max's...

seems to work ok for me... not sure why you don't like it... Do you not like it because Maya allows you to control how much pull it has?
