Yes Ive certainly been thinking about it. I would really go for it personally regarding your model, its just how you approach it. Im thinking about doing this beastie all in Z brush and most likely a final render too, because Maya and displacement mapping are still a little hit and miss (from the Maya Side not mine) Also its one of those jobs that will help me decipher Zbrush a bit more. I did create a new SSS material in Z the other night for this but I didnt save it out DOH!!
Ive learnt a hell of a lot on this and my Joker model over the last week. I really want to go for broke with Outlaws' new character models so I guess this is a good testing ground
Will update later, just been modelling a Sea Anemone for the ear hole here at work. Now I suppose I'd better get on with the paid stuff!
No rigging necessary, everything is going to be done in Zb3, including facial expression and head position. If I had time I'd probably build a body but Outlaws takes precedence over everything like that right now...
Steve: I tried out Zproject on texturing last night, hehehhehehhehehehehehhehehehehehehhe...do it!!! Talk about put the PS clone tool in 3d space!!! and its very fast too...
thanks Steve
...its an absolute peach to use. As you can see Ive configured the interface too. Theres a ton of stuff in there. My only qualm is that the help file menu isnt working, I want to configure my own hotkeys but instead it opens a file window for some reason. I'll have to check over at Zbrush central for any bug updates or workarounds, apart from that no probs...

...indeed!! some of the screen is visible in the image
Yeah Z3, its still has 'that' gui, but its much more refined than before. Its totally customisable to have as you want, its alot faster than before and can handle up to a billion polys now, also textures can now be created up to 8k so you can really hit the details if your machine can handle it. But I will say having used both this and Mudbox I prefer Zbrush without a doubt now, it has so much more to offer!
