Texturing question

Hello, I am working on my first character model and i am running a bit short on time. Is it possible to rig your character with its bones first, and after that is done, place your textures on the skin afterwards? My character is made up of a main body, some gloves that act as hands, some thigh armor and some boots that are the feet. each of these is a separate piece.

I have already UV unwrapped everything and taken snapshots. It is just taking too long to make the textures come out the way i want and i have about 2 weeks to rig and animate him.

So, to summarize. Can i texture each separate piece of my character after rigging and skinning is done?

Sorry if the first paragraph is mess. I'm sooo sleepy. Working on this for hours and hours each night.

Thank you for taking a look at this. =D

I don't think that it matters that much, but i think that you should try and maintain the "normal"workflow.
good luck
