Mirror and instance

Hey,

I have a model and it is in half along the x axis. I want to mirror the geometry and smooth the mirrored geometry and have it update when I edit the original geometry. Can someone tellme how to do this?

(Polys by the way).

I tried the mirror tool but when I smoothed the original geometry it smoothed the original as well.

Thanks.
