Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

WIP Bedroom

hey guys I am new to modeling and my first attempt at modeling were cars, but that wasn't going so good so I decided that I would have a try at modeling a bedroom I am not good at texturing at the moment but i have tried here it is so far (it is jsut a bed at the moment)

yeah - not bad user added image

check your reflectivity on the backboard - it looks a little strong. you also might want to beef up the pillows and also round them and the mattress a bit more. check out lattices - they are really useful for making big changes to your model.

another update: I have had a play around with Mental Ray and I think that it makes the scene look a lot more realistic

the reflectivity of all the wood needs to go down, other than that it looks grea so faruser added image

just another quick update added a couple of things, an alarm clock and a photo frame above the bed (this is not my picture I got off Google user added image)

you should drop the reflectivity of the walls....

also, physical sun and sky for an indoor scene? maybe you should try to light it properly, just my opinion. user added image

looks great dude, the dressers refectivity still needs to go down and the bed and pillows need work, but thats it from me user added image

ok I have adjusted the dressers they no longer have any reflections and I will fix up the bed and pillows soon
