Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

sorry, i don't have anything to say about your ship but if you're going to post your cg portfolio link on each post you should add it in your signiture, so then you don't have to remember it or copy/paste it each post

Thank you for that info, I didnt know.

Im making windows (big fun) but I have a problem.

Why this part is iluminated if there is only one point light in the interior?

The rear part get light because there is an opening but this one shouldnt be iluminated. Im going to check if everything is sealed but is too much light.

I have a theory about you:

Because in NZ everybody is upside down, you have made this eye to be able to see the posts without rotating your head.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

Dont get angry is just a joke.

not angry but i didn't know what you were talking about, but i assume you're refering to my avatar

either way, it's not us in NZ who are upside down, everyone in the northern hemisphere is upsidedown, someone just decided to look at the earth as if the northern hemisphere was above the southern. and due to the tilt in the earth i say we in NZ are on top of the world user added image

The problem of who is on the top could be easily resolved with my BHT (black hole thrower).

hello,

just a couple of things.

Its really hard to get an understanding of your ship because your renders are really low quality. I was wondering what the fuzzy white bit is. you could perhaps show us some orthographic renders.
do you ever change the anti-aliasing quality? if not, then you should look into that.

When you are posting wire frames, you should enable wife frame on shaded. you can do this in the shading menu i believe.

about the mesh - you should really aim for quads, that just means a polygon with 4 sides, not triangles or 5 sided or whatever.

also when you render - turn on resolution gate. this shows you the border of the renderable area in the viewport. it is essential for positioning the camera to give us a good view of the ship. (resolution gate is in the view menu> camera settings > resolution gate.

Thank you for your comments and your attention.

Those are just fun renders because sometimes you get bored of the mesh, and are very low quality.
They are right for me , only to have an idea of what im doing and how it may look like.
The model is far from finished and I have not intended yet to go more seriously into texturing and lighting.
I placed a point light inside the ship to make the windows glow, but there is some light bleeding that i hope Ill be able to fit when the model is finished .
I dont even know if Ill get time to do it but its really been a funny thing.

personally, I wouldn't use a point light inside the model to emit light from the windows.

...and i would really get in the habit of keeping a tidy mesh. your mesh is very messy right now. (i can see 7 sided polys, triangles and 5 sided polys and i'm sure there are probably more.)
