Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

None textured robot toy - First public pic!

I love the legs, but the body sucks it up big time, couldn't begin to do a body of a real robot. I'll try again, until then, let me know what you think. (Remeber im a total n00b!)

can you point me in the direction of some free models for download, so I can figure out something for a body to go with my cool legs?

I like that idea Kevin. Ultra games, you have the skills to make something like a ATST walker (or w/e they are called) it would just take a bit of time! I suggest getting a really good image of one and try modelling off of that. I remember modelling in 3ds max a while back and I didnt know anything (Like i do now with maya.. i know less then you do) and i decided to make that crab in my avatar to the left and it worked out.. just i didnt know how to put on materials too well.

I think you have skills basically because you are a noob (correct?) and you already can model a AT ST quite nicely. Also just from what i have seen on your original one, you do understand making objects and models very well at your level. Also your AT ST is very cool! Now go from there and change the legs to be 2 times as long..like the picture i attatched user added image. Oh also if Maya is anything like 3ds max.. you should be able to add some nice metal textures to that guy with UVW mapping.

user added image I wish i didnt have all this damn homework! Otherwise i would be learning too.

HAHA. Hey man, I have had finals all this week, and still have two more this week. I just choose not to do the homework most of the time. I know nothing about UV mapping. And yes, i am a noob, ive only played with Maya for about 20 hrs total.
