shadow on polymesh

hi all. Anyone know how I can get rid of this shadow on the mesh I'm building? I'm a bit of a beginner and can't seem top find the answer in the manual.

I think its an issue with the face normals.
Try displaying them to make sure they are all facing outwards
*You may have to average them out in that area.
If you don't know how We can show you how.

*Another option is if that dark spot is only in that area, you can simply delete the faces in that area and rebuild the area.
