Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Smoth sufrace help

When I'm adding additional edge loop to the mesh, the sides of the surfaces becomes uneven. I've tried to moving vertexes, tried to averaging vertexes and nothing helped. Any advices?

Also one more quesiton, what do you think about my edge flow, it is good?
Thank you!

If you don't want those then you can align the faces by scaling them on the local axis......or alternatively use smooth sculpt brush after smoothing your mesh and get rid of dents like those !!

What do you mean to get rid "Dents like these" can you be more specific please?

Thank you for the reply I'll try it once I'm back home!

EDIT: I've tried, but I have no idea how to use the smoothing tool in Maya, do you have any tutorial? Thanks!!

Dents in mesh typically refer to the "uneven surface you have created by adding two loops very close to each other". This generally happens when you move edges rather than sliding them (while adjusting) over a non planer surface. So you might also use the slide edge toll as well in future.

Maybe this helps :https://autodesk-maya.wonderhowto.com...l-maya-194586/

Alright! I've learned a new tool, Polygon Slide edge!

It worked flawless, also I've discovered quite a few triangles in my mesh, and have removed/fixed them!

Thank you SimplyCreative03!
