n00b here- UV mapping question

Hey y'all,

I have a rectangular polygon that I am trying to map. Everything is fine except the proportions of the map are wrong. It comes up as a perfect cube in the texture editor even though the shape is actually rectangular. How may I make the texture proportional to my shape?

In the options of the projection turn on keep image width/height ratio
