Repeat after me:

Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.
Must remember to save.

Does maya just randomly disappear on anyone else? I was making good progress then. But then this about the 3rd time this has happened in the last few days. I only have myself to blame.

Do check on the Task Manager if it´s still running. If it is, you could have a chance of finding the software by ALT-Tab cycling the windows. I had Maya do that game on me for several times.

I have had maya crash on me 2 times, in my life. I reckon that is quite good atleast compared to my experience with 3DSMAX which, on average, randomly crashes 2-3 times / day.

I totally agree with you fredriksson, Maya's stability is far better than 3DS Max. One of the many reasons which made me switch to Maya.

Yes. Often. I blame my crap video card as my CPU and RAM is more than sufficient. It won't kick up a fuss, just quietly disappear with all my work. user added image
