Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

well......... first...... keep in mind that proportions are the most important thing and thats something you should work on. If your character isn't going to have a helmet then you dont need to add too much detail other than the front side of the face. Whic his the area that is mostly seen when a player is wearing a helmet but don't forget about proportions. Now is this guy a linebacker, quarterback, safety etc..... they all wear different apparel, specially the linebackers and the quarterbacks. Keep that in mind and find references..... I hope this helps you...

to answer your questions jflores the character is going to have his helmet off and on so i need the head, its not even close to being done (the head thats is) but this is a running back so he actually has a lower brace on and a back brace. i have refs but its not like they are side and front poses of this cerain player all i have is action poses

thanks for the input though it still needs some work

Just read that you are coming to Miami to check out the Art University, Yeah it's good. Have some freinds of mine that teach there, some good artists walk out of that place.

If its a lineman, through on some forearm gear. And dont forget to tape up some fingers. I broke many playing Footbal in HS and College. PURDUE!!!

that is really really good! i think the hands need a touch more work, but it looks awesome. i really like the padding, you've done an awesome job to make it look like the padding is under the clothes. great work!

hi Keith,

nice modeling

the body seems to have some proportion problems - the arms are too short. If you were to place your arms to your side - you would notice that the elbows are almost level with your waist - your guys elbows seem higher than that.

Keep up the good work.
