Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Nice work!

I loved your cloths modeling great stuffuser added image I check out your website, and I have to say that you are really good at what you do. How long have you been working in the 3d field? Or more so how long have you been doing 3d art? Do you do this stuff for a living?

Thanks man. Yeah I do this sort of thing for a living. I create a 3d comic strip with 4 other dudes. We all use Maya. So im real lucky to do it at work all day then come home to hone my skills even more and do my own work.

Ive been doing art since I was a kid and have always been able to draw and the stuff for 3d, errrmI started in 97 using strata studio on the mac then I went to college and did a 2 month crash course using Max then got a job in 99 using Lightwave for 2 years, then me and a colleague saw Maya at version 2.5 and were blown away. So we got the boss to drop Lightwave and get Maya 3 and Ive been using that since so...here we are!!

Holy Crap Im back at last.

Been taking some time out from practically everything, just to recharge the batteries and stuff. Feels like ages since I did anything properly.

Heres an update on the arm that Ive done tonite, just got to put the thumb nail in place then onto the right hand side of the model (limbs) Im hoping to have this model complete at the weekend time permitting.

for me theres way to much polys on the mechanical parts connecting the joints...those are not needed....but the rest is very cool!!

Hey VK

Yeah am doing the same for the right leg too. Im doing a small homage to Frankensteins Monster; Im going to put an electrical arc where the forearm twist would be (ulnar and radius joints) to join the wrist and the area just below the elbow, so it looks like old technology.

Dragonhawk; No theres not that many really, the cylinders are default setting with a bevel and some minor extrudes as with the cubes, theres enough there for a good set of uv control, which fit my requirements on this particular model

Looks really cooluser added image, although the robotic arm looks flimsy, it needs a little more substance in the forearm, if u know wat i mean.

Hey Dude!! Its been a while man!

No, no more pages as yet but they are Storyboarded and ready to roll as soon as...

Just bloody busy on the models LOL its like a life sentence. Yeah drop by, Ive updated the news but thats it right now, just modelling as quick as possible and keeping the interest rolling for everyone.
