Please help Material

When i go to create something, and use a background pic. I go to hypershade then create a new lambert and make the image and all.(just like kurts tutorial) But when i create a new object, its assigned with the picture, every object.

cos you put the image onto lambert 1, lambert1 is the default material for everything. make another.
