outliner mess problem

hi, I've just finished making a full body ik rig for one of my characters. I used a tutorial for this. -Unfortunately the tut doesn't show how to tidy up my outliner after I finished. I tried several ways of grouping stuff together, but something always went wrong. I've also looked for other tutorials but I couldn't find anything that would realy solve my problem.
Any help or a demo scene would be much apreciated.

Thanks

I soved my forst problem, but I ran into another realy wired problem, when painting weights some of the vertices I could not paint on. So I wanted to use the component editor, to zero the values out. Whenever I try to set them to zero maya ignores it. the values just swap around a little bit. It is sam if I try to do it vertex by vertex. Somehow the overall value on every vertex stayes one. I have no ideo why or how to solve this.
Is there maybe ascript or something that would help me?

thanks
