maya 2008 polygon context menu misbehaving

I have been evaluating maya 2008 and I think I found a bug.

When you hold down the shift-rclk buttons with a polygon object selected you get a popup menu of things that you can do on polygons at the object level, when you are in edge mode and have an edge selected you get a menu appropriate for that mode.

I have become quite addicted to using shift-rclk and ctrl-rclk in my workflow.

However, for some reason after editing a polygon for a while it will no longer display the context popup menu anymore for shift-rclk. It just displays the default popup when you have no objects selected which is a menu to create polygon primitives.

I cannot grab a screen shot because I have to hold the shift-ctrl buttons to bring up the menu and grabbit will not recognize the print screen button when I am hold the others down so I made a camtasia video of it.

Could folks let me know if they are also seeing this behevior. I need to know if it is a maya bug or a system issue.
