Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Blizzards Valentine Contest

I recently entered Blizzard's Valentine contest and to my surprise it was chosen as one of the winners and since it has been a long time since I posted anything on SM.

unfortunatly didn't bother with this project, but I have some screen grabs of the different elements.

making it was easy as pie, illustrator shape for the heart, simple extrude, then I re-worked the faces in the center of the shape, ribbons are curves lofted then rebuilt, chocs are box modelled then smoothed,
Map was a plane with a non linear wave applied, floor is another plane with a little displacement map, tray for chocs has a displacement map
Choc box, has a textures running into a layered texture,
photos are planes with some bends, scene is being lighted from a HDRI image.

Then I plated with it in Photoshop, a few curves and level adjustments.

all in all it is pretty simple, I didn't have time for anything to taxing, had to do this during work hours user added image.
